What a demonstration with us is actually like
Buying HiFi shouldn’t feel like a sales pitch. When you come in for a demonstration, we start with a proper conversation — what you listen to, the room it’ll live in, and roughly what you’d like to spend. Then we sit you down in our dedicated listening room, put the kettle on, and let you hear the difference for yourself.
There’s no script and no rush. We’ll set up a few options, swap components in and out, and help you hear what actually matters to your ears. Most people stay far longer than they planned — and that’s exactly how we like it.

In-store demonstrations
Our Shrewsbury showroom is set up for serious listening: comfortable seating, treated acoustics and systems ready to play from brands like Arcam, Monitor Audio, Pro-Ject and more.
We usually begin with a short discovery chat — by phone or in person — so everything is ready when you arrive. Bring a handful of albums you know inside out; hearing familiar music is the quickest way to know whether a system is right for you.
In your own room
Home demonstrations across Shropshire
A system always sounds different in the room it’ll actually live in. For that reason we also offer home demonstrations across Shropshire, so you can hear your shortlist in context before committing.
Home demonstrations are arranged at our discretion and may require a refundable deposit against the value of the equipment (and, where set-up is involved, a small non-refundable fee). We’ll explain everything clearly when you book — no surprises.
How to get the most from your visit
- Bring your own music. Familiar tracks tell you more than any spec sheet — vinyl, CD or a playlist on your phone all work.
- Tell us about your room. Size, layout and furnishings all shape the sound; a few details help us set up sensibly.
- Have a rough budget in mind. It helps us focus on systems that suit you — there’s never any pressure to reach for more.
- Allow a couple of hours. Good listening isn’t rushed, and there’s always a fresh coffee on hand.
Common questions
Can I bring my own music?
Please do — we actively encourage it. Bring vinyl, CDs or a playlist on your phone; hearing music you know well is the best way to judge a system.
Is there any obligation to buy?
None at all. A demonstration is about helping you find the right system in your own time. If that’s not with us today, that’s absolutely fine.
Do you offer home demonstrations?
Yes, across Shropshire and the surrounding area. Home demos are arranged at our discretion and may require a deposit against the equipment value; we’ll explain the details when you book.
