Icon Audio
Hand-built British valve amplification — music through glowing glass.
Why we stock Icon Audio
Icon Audio have been designing and hand-building valve amplifiers in Leicester for over two decades — point-to-point wired, generously specified, and made to be serviced rather than thrown away. In a world of identical black boxes, an Icon Audio amplifier is unashamedly different: glowing valves, a proper meter, and a wonderfully natural, spacious way with music that has to be heard to be understood.
We stock Icon Audio because valve amplification is something every serious listener should experience at least once — and these are valves without the usual worries: sensibly priced, built to last, and supported by a British factory. Our valve vs transistor guide explains the differences honestly, and with sensitive loudspeakers such as Monitor Audio or JBL’s Classic range the pairing can be quite special.

A word from Duncan
The first time you hear a good valve amplifier, something clicks — voices sound like people, and the music just breathes. The Stereo 40 is the one I sit customers in front of when they ask what the fuss is about. Bring an album you love and find out; it’s never a wasted afternoon.
