How REL sizing works
A subwoofer should be sized to the room and the speakers it supports, not to a wish for maximum bass. Too small and it strains; too large and it overwhelms the room before it ever sounds right. The sweet spot is the model that reaches comfortably below your main speakers without dominating the space.
T/5x — the discreet foundation
Compact enough to tuck beside furniture, the T/5x is the easy way into proper REL bass for standmount speakers in smaller rooms — think Silver 100s in a snug lounge. Fast, musical, invisible.
T/7x — the all-rounder
The T/7x is the one we recommend most: enough reach and headroom for medium rooms and most floorstanders, while keeping the speed that makes REL so good with music as well as film.
T/9x — for bigger rooms and bigger speakers
With larger floorstanders or open-plan spaces, the T/9x brings the extra scale and depth the room will otherwise swallow — without trading away musicality.
Setup matters as much as the model
A REL connected at high level and positioned with care is transformative; the same box dropped in a corner and turned up is not. Positioning and integration are part of every installation we do, and something we demonstrate in the showroom.
